Why a $5000 Water Filter May Be Too Expensive to Pay for a Home Filtration System

Why should anyone pay $5000 for a whole house water filter when you can buy another filtration system with performance equal or better than the overpriced filter? And for less than $1000!

A family friend bought a water filter from a neighborhood salesperson for over $5000 for his whole house because he forgot that I have a part time water filter business. I had previously sent him a link to my website and to my affiliate page. Because of the demand of his medical profession and his need to urgently install a filter to remove taste and odor due to iron in his drinking water, he fell for a water filter scam.

Without researching, he paid over $5000 for a Cuno wholehouse from a neighborhood salesperson. This salesperson convinced my friend to pay that insane price (including installation costs) on a treatment system. The good news is that you can buy and install an NSF certified water filter system for your whole house at a much lower cost.

Got a List of Your New Year Resolution Yet?

In fact, at the time one year is ending followed by an emotional start of another brand new year, most people will make a resolution.  The most common, I think, is the resolution to lose weight and be physically fit.

I have stopped making those meaningless resolutions many years ago.  I would not want to ever deceive myself or put unnecessary demands on myself that I may likely not fulfill, not even during the first month of the New Year.  Let’s face it, if you are undisciplined during the short 365 days of the previous year, how do you expect to suddenly become disciplined in the first 31 days of the New Year? Some may do, but a lot will fail.

One thing I am not looking forward to right now would be the traffic in the gym in January. Everyone that has resolved to lose wait and join a fitness center will show up, so we have to fight for treadmills and mats. Unfortunately, most will become discouraged because they expect result instantly.  Losing weight at the gym is not a drive-by endeavor, my friend.  It takes time, may be 365 days or less; the choice is yours.

I am not a fitness expert but I just want to encourage anyone out there to not give up easily, it takes time.

Having said all that, here is my suggested New Year resolution that can be kept effortlessly: Drink healthy water without the expense of bottled water.

  • Buy a water filter to help you filter out harmful chemicals in your water so you would not have to spend money on bottled water.  The annual cost of bottled water is not worth it compared with the one cost of a water filter system, and a subsequent replacement filter cartridges.
  • If you think you have too much chlorine in your water, consider a whole house water filter.  If your shower water gives you itchy and flaky skin, buy a showerhead water filter. The filter will reduce the chlorine byproducts in the water allowing you to have a healthy showering experience.
  • When you are camping, biking, or other outdoor adventures, consider a camping water purifier, water bottle with filter, or carry your filtered water with a refillable water bottle.

These are some of the easiest resolutions you can keep throughout the year. Clean and healthy water will enhance your efforts to live healthy while you save.
